Being a rural business and supporting small businesses that may be rurally based themselves is not just something we say we do it is something we live! This is why ensuring that we are environmentally, rural and green-friendly is essential.

At Escape the Village, we are committed to protecting the environment and being responsible members of our local community. We recognize the importance of sustainability, conservation, and minimizing our ecological footprint. This Environmental and Green Policy outlines our commitment to environmental responsibility and our efforts to contribute positively to our village and the planet.

Our Commitment:

1. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: We will minimize waste generation by reducing consumption, reusing materials whenever possible, and recycling as much as possible. This includes using recycled and recyclable products and materials in our operations.
2. Energy Efficiency: We will strive to reduce our energy consumption by using energy-efficient appliances and equipment, turning off lights and equipment when not in use, and exploring renewable energy options where feasible. From LED lighting with remote control to the latest energy-efficient technology we understand the difference even a light bulb can make!
3. Water Conservation: We will be mindful of our water usage by fixing leaks promptly, using water-saving fixtures, and promoting water conservation practices among our staff.
4. Sustainable Transportation: We encourage our everyone to use environmentally friendly modes of transportation and carpooling where possible. We also support and encourage the use of public transport where practical for meetings.
5. Local Sourcing: Whenever possible, we will prioritize local suppliers and products to support the local economy and reduce the carbon footprint associated with transportation. Our website hosting is local and we love our local farm shops, but that is just a fraction of our commitment.
6. Waste Reduction: We will minimize single-use plastics and aim to provide reusable or recyclable alternatives in our business operations. We will also implement waste reduction programs, such as composting.

10. Virtual Meetings: Rather than traveling to a meeting where possible we will arrange meetings on Teams, Zoom, or Google. There is nothing quite like a virtual coffee!
