Supporting rural businesses and supporting our local community go hand in hand. Community support from fundraising events to chosen charities is a big part of who we are at Escape the Village. From homelessness to Great Ormond Street Hospital and local country events to animal welfare, we value our much-needed local, regional and national community organisations that go above and beyond!

8 Training Battalion welfare team is hosting an event to support local community business at the MOD Lyneham Community Centre on 7th July. Threshold Housing Link: Businesses Against Homelessness
Liz and her daughter Izzy have actively supported the Threshold Housing Link Big Sleep Out each year for the last five years. Even during lockdown when they slept out at the family stables surrounded by their ponies and chickens they have been proud to support this essential local organisation.
As veterans both Liz and her husband Colin are only too aware how homelessness can affect all sectors of our population. Liz also spent nearly five years in the residential property sector and while working with property buyers during this time the imbalance in society with our often invisible homeless as well became even more apparent! Now each year in December the team join others to raise funds for this vital organisation and the work they do in and around Swindon for the area’s homeless. Giraffes On Tour, Supporting GOSH
Towards the end of 2023 after following the Giraffes on Tour for several years Liz reached out to offer them the support of Escape the Village. Geoffery the Giraffe are well known in aviation and military circles but 2024 is the year to extend their reach. Escape the Village provided a complimentary comprehensive marketing audit and are now looking forward to supporting them throughout 2024 with their upcoming events, PR and more.
The Giraffes on Tour charity and their fundraising is especially close to the heart of Liz as when she was four years old her own life was saved by a doctor from Great Ormond Street Hospital. To this day she and her family are grateful and remember the difference this amazing children’s hospital can and does make to children and their families! Discover more about their work and how you can support them on their website.
